Editorial Standards

This page explains how NBA Stat produces its news articles, postgame reports, and pregame analysis, and what readers can expect from them.
1. Use of AI tools
NBA Stat articles are drafted with the help of AI language models. A draft is written from two kinds of input: published reporting from other news outlets, and structured game data such as box scores, schedules, and injury reports.
We do not use AI to invent quotes, statistics, or events. Every quote in an article comes from a cited source. Numbers are checked against official game data before publication.
2. Human review
Drafts are not published automatically. A member of the NBA Stat team reviews each article before it goes live and checks it for:
- scores, statistics, and dates
- names, teams, and quotes
- support from the cited sources for every claim
- clarity, fairness, and tone
Articles that cannot be verified are not published.
3. Sourcing and attribution
Every article lists its sources at the end, with links to the original reporting. When a fact comes from a specific reporter or outlet, the article credits them in the text. A report that one outlet has not confirmed is described as a report, not as fact.
We summarize and add context. We do not republish other outlets’ articles.
4. Game data
Scores, box scores, schedules, and player statistics come from official NBA game feeds. They are updated throughout the season. Statistics may change when the league issues corrections; our data pages reflect the latest available figures.
5. Bylines
Articles are published under the NBA Stat Desk byline. The desk is NBA Stat’s newsroom, not an individual reporter. The NBA Stat team is responsible for everything published under it.
6. Images
Article images show the players, teams, or games the article covers. Captions identify where an image comes from. If you believe an image is used incorrectly, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
7. Corrections
We correct errors promptly. To report one, use the contact page and include the article link and the error.
When an article is corrected, the updated date on the article changes. A correction that changes the meaning of an article is noted in the article itself.
8. Independence and betting
NBA Stat is not affiliated with the NBA, its teams, or any sportsbook, and no one pays for coverage. Odds appear for reference and entertainment only. Our articles are not betting advice and do not recommend wagers.
