Toronto led for three quarters, and RJ Barrett's 20 points were enough to see off a Clippers fourth-quarter rally in a preseason game at home.

The Raptors beat the Clippers 114-106 on Saturday night in Toronto, the sort of preseason game that mostly asks a team to show it can keep its shape when the rotations start to blur. Toronto did that for most of the night, and it had enough left at the end.

The Raptors led through three quarters and took a 17-point cushion into the fourth. The Clippers outscored them 34-25 over the last 12 minutes and made the closing stretch more interesting than it had been for a long while, but they never got the margin down far enough to put real pressure on the finish. Both teams are now 1-1 in the preseason.

The bigger absence on the Clippers' side was Kawhi Leonard, who sat out for reconditioning. That pushes back, for now, the first chance to see him play against the team he left, and it left Los Angeles leaning on its guards and a deep bench.

RJ Barrett led all scorers with 20 points and added 5 assists. Rui Hachimura was the Clippers' top scorer with 14. Scottie Barnes had a double-double, 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while Brook Lopez grabbed 7 to lead Los Angeles on the glass.
