Lakers Pull Away From Clippers, 103-87, in Wednesday's Crosstown Game

Quentin Grimes scored 23 and Collin Sexton added 21 off the bench as the Lakers beat the Clippers by 16.

Anyone who went looking for the TV channel and streaming options for Wednesday's Lakers-Clippers game, and the guides were everywhere, got a night that rewarded the effort. The Lakers won 103-87 at the Clippers' building, a 16-point margin that was not in much doubt by the end.

Quentin Grimes set the pace. He played a game-high 38 minutes and finished with 23 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Collin Sexton came off the bench and scored 21 in just 21 minutes, which made him the most efficient scorer on the floor. Austin Reaves added 16 points and 6 rebounds, and Matisse Thybulle chipped in 15 from the starting lineup.

The Lakers also got steady work on the glass from places that don't show up in the scoring column. Jake LaRavia scored only 2 points in 35 minutes but pulled down 10 rebounds. Walker Kessler had 11 points and 9 rebounds, Sandro Mamukelashvili had 13 points and 8 rebounds, and Jarred Vanderbilt grabbed 7 in 21 minutes without scoring.

The Clippers got their best work from Keaton Wagler, who scored 21 in 28 minutes. Derrick Jones Jr. had 15 points and Darius Garland had 14 points and 5 assists, but not much came from the rest of the roster. Brook Lopez played 22 minutes and scored 2 points, and Kris Dunn scored 5 in 27. That was not enough to keep up with a Lakers group that had four players in double figures before Mamukelashvili and Kessler were counted.
