Luka Doncic scored 40 points for the third game in a row, and the Lakers beat the Kings 116-103 at Golden1 Center. He shot 11-of-23, made six of 13 threes, and added nine rebounds and seven assists in 35 minutes. Six turnovers were the only blemish, and Sacramento never found a way to make him pay for them.
The first quarter ended 28-28. Los Angeles won the second 33-26 to lead 61-54 at halftime, then took the third 26-20 to go up 87-74. The fourth was even at 29-29, so the Kings never cut into the gap. They also never got closer than the margin they trailed by entering the final period.
Sacramento's best work came from its backcourt and its center. Darius Acuff Jr. led the Kings with 22 points and 12 assists, a double-double, though he shot 8-of-24. Zach LaVine added 21. Domantas Sabonis had 16 points and 17 rebounds, another double-double. Dylan Cardwell made his season debut and had four points and six rebounds in 13 minutes.
Austin Reaves gave Doncic a second scorer with 21 points. Walker Kessler hit six of eight shots for 15 points, with eight rebounds and three blocks. The Kings, who came in 1-6 after their first win, a road upset of Dallas, dropped to 1-7. They have six games left on a seven-game homestand.
