The Timberwolves are going to be without Anthony Edwards for roughly two months after knee surgery, and on Wednesday they looked like a team that had not been told. Down 84-82 entering the fourth quarter in Houston, Minnesota scored 35 to the Rockets' 23 and won 117-107, handing the league's best net-rating team a loss at home.

The scoring came from everywhere. Ayo Dosunmu led Minnesota with 21 points on 10-of-20 shooting, and LaMelo Ball added 20, four of his six field goals coming from three. Bones Hyland scored 19 in only 16 minutes off the bench, hitting four of seven threes. Jonathan Kuminga had 16, also with four threes.

Houston got 21 from Kevin Durant, who made 7 of 14 and led the Rockets. Fred VanVleet added 18 and Reed Sheppard 14 off the bench. Alperen Sengun filled the stat sheet with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, but he needed 15 shots to get his 17, and Houston's offense stalled when the game tightened.

The night was even through three quarters. Minnesota led 33-30 after one, and the teams were tied at 57 at halftime. Houston took a two-point edge by outscoring the Wolves 27-25 in the third. Then the fourth became Minnesota's, and the Rockets, who had won seven of their first eight, managed only 23 points in it.
