The Suns arrived in Phoenix 1-5 and last in the league in defensive rating, and they still had 96 points on the board after three quarters. The opponent was an Orlando team without Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs and three other players. Phoenix won 117-104 on the second night of a back-to-back and never trailed in any way that mattered.

It was 33-26 after one and 63-51 at the half, and the third quarter settled it. Phoenix won that period 33-22 to take a 96-73 lead. Devin Booker led all scorers with 30 on 11-of-22 shooting, with four threes and eight assists. Dillon Brooks added 24, and Miles Bridges had a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Orlando's best work came from Wendell Carter Jr., who went 10 of 12 for 27 points and 13 rebounds. Franz Wagner played a team-high 38 minutes and finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 15 assists, another double-double. Tristan da Silva scored 18, though he needed 12 three-point attempts to hit four. Desmond Bane had 15 on 5-of-12 shooting.

The Magic won the fourth quarter 31-21, which cut a 23-point deficit to the final 13 but did not bring them within range. Phoenix moves to 2-5. Orlando falls to 2-6 and has now lost three straight, with no clear way to score without Banchero in the lineup.
