Pregame AnalysisWarriors Look to Even the Series as Suns Visit Chase Center
Golden State's rematch with Phoenix hinges on how close to full strength its core looks at home.

Phoenix arrives at Chase Center with a 1-0 lead in the series, having beaten Golden State 131-122 on Oct. 24. That game came without Steph Curry, and the Suns were able to exploit a Warriors group built around Brandon Williams, who scored 20 points with five assists in the one game Curry has missed. The rematch is a chance to see how different Golden State looks with its centerpiece in the lineup.
The availability picture matters. Curry (right knee) and Draymond Green (low back) were ruled out of the Oct. 31 game against the Clippers for rest and injury management. Reports on this game point to both being likely available. If they play, the Warriors regain their offensive organizer and defensive communicator, which is the biggest difference from the first meeting. Even so, the knee and back issues make it worth watching how heavily each is used.
Depth is still a concern. Jimmy Butler (knee) and Moses Moody (knee) remain out, and Kristaps Porzingis is not with the team. Gui Santos is dealing with a knee issue, and reports differ on his status. That thins the rotation and puts more pressure on Curry, Green and Williams to carry the minutes and creation.
The Warriors do have momentum. After an 0-3 start they beat Denver and Minnesota, which suggests the group has found its footing. Home court and a likely return of Curry and Green should outweigh Phoenix's earlier win, though the thin supporting cast should keep this close into the fourth quarter.
Prediction: Warriors 118, Suns 113.
