The Lakers came in two days after a 112-95 loss at Golden State. Luka Doncic made sure Sunday did not go the same way. He finished with 45 points, 15 rebounds and six assists, and Los Angeles beat Toronto 131-125 to move to 5-2.
Los Angeles led 66-54 at the half and 104-82 after three, a 22-point margin. Toronto then scored 43 points in the fourth quarter to the Lakers' 27, and the last few minutes were uncomfortable. Jamison Battle's dunk with 1.8 seconds left made it 131-125, and that was the final.
Scottie Barnes scored 29 points for Toronto. RJ Barrett added 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Jamison Battle scored 20 points in 17 minutes. Walker Kessler had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Los Angeles, Austin Reaves scored 19 in 39 minutes, and Collin Sexton added 14 points in 19 minutes off the bench. Cameron Carr played one minute and did not score.
The Lakers got the bounce-back win. The fourth quarter is the part they will have to watch again.
