The Jazz led by 10 after three quarters and by as many as 13, and they outrebounded the Pelicans. But they shot 11-of-47 from three, and the lead was gone by the fourth quarter's end.

Utah scored just 13 in the second quarter and trailed 42-37 at the half. Then came a 43-point third that put the Jazz up 80-70. The Pelicans answered with 34 in the fourth to tie it at 104. Overtime belonged to New Orleans, 16-9, and Saddiq Bey closed it with six straight points. He finished with 22 off the bench, going 9-of-14.

Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 23 points, making only 6 of 14 shots but 11 of 13 free throws. Derik Queen had 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists, and Dejounte Murray also scored 20 in a game-high 45 minutes. Jeremiah Fears added 19. Herbert Jones went 1-of-7 and scored two, and the offense carried on around him.

Lauri Markkanen had a double-double for Utah, 21 points and 10 rebounds, with five threes. Ace Bailey scored 15 but went 1-of-9 from deep, and Darryn Peterson had seven assists on 2-of-8 shooting. Mo Bamba grabbed 10 rebounds in 15 minutes. The Jazz came in 1-6 and without Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jusuf Nurkic. The Pelicans, 0-4 to start, have won four straight and avenged a 120-119 loss to Utah on October 23.
